Objective: To give an introduction to climbing without any risk of falling - the safest way to start enjoying this sport.
Contents
: Progression on easy, equipped routes and abseiling.
Prerequisites
: No prior climbing experience is required. Normal fitness level.
Duration: Half day.
Equipment: We provide all necessary equipment.
Teacher - student ratio: Maximum 1:4.
Price: €75 (minimum 2 people). Insurance included.
Notes: As well as offering you a first taste of this fascinating sport, this activity will teach you the basics of descending (abseiling with auto-block).

 

Objective: To provide the student with the knowledge and skills they need to climb single-pitch sport routes, in a roped team, and with total autonomy.
Contents: Basic equipment, knots, protection systems, recovering protection, abandoning routes and grading and interpreting reviews.
Prerequisites: No prior climbing experience is required. Normal fitness level.
Duration:
Three days. A presentation and three theory/practical sessions.
Equipment:
Suitable clothing and climbing shoes.

Objective: To provide students with the knowledge and skills they need to climb multi-pitch, semi-equipped routes, in the lead and with total autonomy.
Contents: Basic equipment, belay stations, placement of protection, progression with double rope, managing rappel devices, progression on artificial, equipped routes and interpretation of reviews.
Prerequisites: Level V+ in sport climbing. Good fitness level.
Duration: Four days. A presentation, a theory session and three practical sessions.
Equipment: Suitable clothing and personal equipment (harness, climbing shoes, descender, cow’s tail and 2 screw-lock HMS karabiners).
Price: €300 per person (minimum 4 people). Insurance included.

Objective: To provide general knowledge of aid climbing for big walls.
Contents: Basic equipment, basic aid climbing progression up to A2, placement, testing and recovery of protection, using a swinging scaffold, manoeuvres with haul bags and hammocks, progression with fixed rope and self-rescue.
Prerequisites: Level V in unequipped climbing. Good fitness level.
Duration: Four days. A presentation, a theory session and three practical sessions.
Equipment: Suitable rope and personal equipment (harness, climbing shoes, descender, cow’s tail and 2 screw-lock HMS karabiners).
Price: €360 per person (minimum 3 people). Insurance included.

Objective: To teach the techniques of solo climbing on multi-pitch routes.
Contents: Basic equipment, solo progression techniques using knot methods, specific apparatus (SOLOIST, SOLOAID, SILENT PARTNER) and the use of other apparatus (SUM, CINCH, GRIGRI).
Prerequisites: Level V in sport climbing. Good fitness level. Good level of self-control, confidence and mental control.
Duration: Three days. A presentation, a theory session and two practical sessions.
Equipment: Suitable rope and personal equipment (harness, climbing shoes, descender, cow’s tail and 2 screw-lock HMS karabiners).
Price: €450 per person (minimum 2 people). Insurance included.

Objective: To practice basic self-rescue manoeuvres in an accident scenario using the equipment that the climber has at hand to facilitate the evacuation of the injured party.
Contents: Setting up reinforced belay stations. Special knots, basic and specific equipment for self-rescue. Progression by ropes. Simulation of accident below belay station. Simulation of accident above belay station.
Prerequisites: Level V in climbing. Good fitness level.
Duration: Three days.
Equipment: Suitable rope and personal equipment (harness, climbing shoes, descender, cow’s tail and 2 screw-lock HMS karabiners).

Canyoning courses


Location: Serra de Prades (Tarragona) and Sadernes (Girona)
Duration: Two weekends.
Teacher - student ratio: Maximum 1:5.
Price: €250 per person (minimum 4 people). Insurance included. The price includes: Shared group equipment, qualified guides and accident insurance. Each student will have to take their own personal equipment (this can be hired for €20 per day).
The first two days will take place in Tarragona, starting in the morning. If anybody does not have a vehicle, we will try to arrange something.
On the first day we will go to Montral for an introduction within a climbing area. We will cover basic safety, progression and descent manoeuvres.
On the second day we will go down the canyon of Les Fonts del Glorieta, in Montral, which is a beginners’ canyon.
We have the option to sleep at either the Montral or the La Mussara refuges. It costs around 8 euros to sleep or around 20-24 euros for half board (bed, dinner and breakfast).
The next two days we will head towards France, to the canyon of Las Anelles (an hour and a half from Barcelona, near La Jonquera), where we will practise abseiling, jumps and slides. Afterwards, we will go to the campsite at Sadernes (Girona) to descend the canyon of Sant Aniol the following day, which will be the last canyon on the course. This canyon is still easy but a little longer and more complicated than the previous ones.

Objective: To link Stem Christie turns on compact snow (blue pistes), safely and independently.
Contents: Getting into the right position on your skis. Learning about the fundamentals of a curve and the movements made during one. We will ski easy slopes in order to take in all of the concepts and work on the basic technique (position, direction, load, acceleration, symmetry, etc.), the technical movements of skiing downhill and the phases of a turn.
Prerequisites: This is an introductory level course, for people who have never skied before or who have tried it only briefly before.
Duration: 4 days, consisting of 7 hours of practical sessions each day and 2 hours of theory sessions in the afternoon, in which we will assess the day’s lessons with the help of audiovisual material. We will go over technical aspects, decide together on routes to take, and talk about the material covered. These days tend to be very full-on. Get ready!!!
Equipment: Personal skiing equipment, suitable clothing and helmet.
Teacher - student ratio: Maximum 1:4. Price: €450 (minimum 4 people). Includes instructor, insurance and ski pass for the pistes of Baqueira-Beret.
Notes: Every skier first needs to develop a basic technique. We must learn to walk before we can run. At this level we will give you all sorts of resources and practical tips on how to iron out the most common problems and bad habits that we all have when skiing.
Objective: To ski on all types of snow and slopes, over compact snow, safely and independently. To adapt speed according to the difficulty of the terrain. To start by skiing easy, safe slopes, with virgin snow, within the confines of a resort. To assess the risks that we may face and the methods we have at our disposal to descend safely. To consolidate the fundamentals learnt at level 0. In order to get ready for level 2, it’s well worth taking a little step back so we can then take two steps forward. At the next level we’ll start to show you some truly unforgettable places!!!
Contents: To ski safely on virgin snow, we need to know what we’re dealing with. At this level we’ll get plenty of practice for our technique on the blue pistes. This will help us to correct many mistakes that could otherwise provoke a fall on a red piste, where the snow conditions aren’t so good. We will learn to recognise both our strong and our weak points when facing virgin snow.
Duration: 4 days, consisting of 7 hours of practical sessions each day and 2 hours of theory sessions in the afternoon, in which we will assess the day’s lessons with the help of audiovisual material. We will go over technical aspects, decide together on the routes to take, and talk about the material covered.
Equipment: Personal skiing equipment, suitable clothing and helmet.
Teacher - student ratio: Maximum 1:4. Price: €500 (minimum 4 people). Includes instructor, insurance and ski pass for the pistes of Baqueira-Beret.
Notes: Skiers who have achieved all of the goals set for levels 0 and 1 will be ready to start skiing virgin snow. Skiing on virgin snow is a risky activity. It requires commitment and responsibility. These courses are designed to give you plenty of information which will undoubtedly help you to better understand the mountain. Our responsibility is to guarantee your successful training.
Objective: To ski routes on virgin snow and prepare to go off-piste. To take full advantage of the possibilities that a ski resort offers us, and to later try out what we’ve learnt on untreated snow.
Contents: The practical sessions will consist of skiing hard on the pistes in order to be safe off of them. A compact, familiar terrain will be ideal for discovering our limits in terms of personal technique. Knowing these limits will be a great aid when it comes to tackling off-piste skiing.
Duration: 4 days, consisting of 7 hours of practical sessions each day and 2 hours of theory sessions in the afternoon, in which we will assess the day'’ lessons with the help of audiovisual material. We will go over technical aspects, decide together on the route to take and talk about the material covered.
Equipment: Personal skiing equipment, suitable clothing and helmet.
Teacher - student ratio: Maximum 1:4.
Price: €500 (minimum 4 people). Includes instructor, insurance and ski pass for the pistes of Baqueira-Beret.
Notes: After completing this level, you’ll be a strong skier. If you’ve got a photo of a slope that you think you’ll never be able to ski, let us know and we’ll see what we can do for you.
Objective: To dominate all of the technical and theoretical aspects of downhill skiing on virgin snow. To fully assume the responsibility that skiing on virgin snow represents.
Contents: This course is designed to use the pistes only to go from one off-piste slope to the next. We will clear up all the tactical aspects prior to a descent, such as studying and planning an itinerary, and learn about and apply all our personal resources to tackle a descent and to be fully prepared to act in coordination with the group in the event of an accident.
Duration: 4 days, consisting of 7 hours of practical sessions each day and 2 hours of theory sessions in the afternoon, in which we will assess the day’s lessons with the help of audiovisual material. We will go over technical aspects, decide together on routes to take, and talk about the material covered.
Equipment: Personal skiing equipment, suitable clothing and helmet.
Teacher - student ratio: Maximum 1:4.
Price: €500 (minimum 4 people). Includes instructor, insurance and ski pass for the pistes of Baqueira-Beret.
Objective: To provide students with the knowledge and skills to allow them to plan and safely undertake winter outings in the mountains using mountain skis.
Contents: The basics, personal equipment, basic safety and progression techniques, the natural surroundings and degrees of difficulty of itineraries.
Prerequisites: Blue piste level skiing. Good fitness level.
Duration: Four days.
Equipment: Suitable clothing, helmet, mountain skis, “seal skins”, knives, crampons, poles, avalanche victim detector, spade, probe, sunglasses, sunscreen and ice axe.
Teacher - student ratio: Maximum 1:4.
Price: €190 (minimum 4 people). Insurance included.
Notes: The course can take place in several different locations: La Cerdanya, Andorra, Pallars or La Vall d’Aran.
Objective: To provide students with the knowledge and skills of orienteering that will allow them to plan and safely undertake winter outings in the mountains.
Contents: Basic lessons and tools for map reading and using a compass and GPS.
Prerequisites: No previous experience is needed. Normal fitness level.
Duration: One day, including theory session.
Equipment: Suitable clothing and snowshoes.
Teacher - student ratio: Maximum 1:4.
Price: €80 (minimum 4 people). Insurance included.
Notes: The course can take place in several different locations: La Cerdanya, Andorra, Pallars or La Vall d’Aran.

 

Mountaineering

Objective: To provide students with the knowledge and skills they need to undertake high mountain climbs with low degrees of difficulty independently and safely.
Contents: The basics of rock, snow and ice. Progressing safely through rocky, snowy terrain. Learning techniques to be both confident and safe when progressing through rocky and/or snowy terrain. Getting to know the mountain terrain and assessing the risks that it presents.
Prerequisites: Good fitness level.
Duration: Three days.
Equipment: Suitable clothing and personal equipment (harness, climbing shoes, helmet, descender, cow’s tail and 2 screw-lock HMS karabiners).
Teacher - student ratio: Maximum 1:4.
Price: €250 (minimum 4 people). Insurance included.
Objective: To provide students with orienteering knowledge and skills that will allow them to plan and safely undertake outings in the mountains.
Contents: Basic lessons and tools for map reading and using a compass. Using GPS: management programs, calibration of maps, tracks, waypoints, routes, preparation and analysis of activities.
Prerequisites: No previous experience is necessary. Normal fitness level.
Duration: One day, including theory session.
Equipment: Suitable clothing and snowshoes.
